With so many vehicles on the roads throughout the state of California it is more important than ever those motorists know and adhere to the rules of the roads. When not followed, it is possible that a motor vehicle accident could occur. While many accidents do not result in serious injuries on other occasions devastating injuries could be inflicted. In the worst cases death will be the end result.
Sadly a car accident recently claimed the life of a man from Yuba City. His pickup was struck by another pickup. At the time of the incident the 56-year-old man who died was pulling onto a highway. Law enforcement indicated that it believed he failed to yield to the other driver’s right-of-way. It is unclear whether the other driver was hurt in the crash.
The cause of the accident is still being determined. The highway patrol said that the weather was rainy, cold and cloudy when the incident occurred. It also said that the driver of the other pickup, a 24-year-old man, attempted to move his vehicle away from the pickup that pulled out in front of him but was unable to do so. Instead, he struck the left side of the vehicle. Whether the weather had anything to do with the actions of either driver will likely be determined in the course of the investigation being conducted into the matter.
In situations where someone is hurt or dies due to the negligent actions of another person, it is possible that the negligent individual could be held responsible in a civil court. When a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit is successful, they may receive financial damages.
